“Airplane Stories and Histories” looks at the remarkable figures who transformed the course of history through their aerial voyages. Their stories are well-presented by an author and aviation expert known for his depth of knowledge and obvious research into aviation history.

The aviation industry’s most remarkable figures that ever lived take the spotlight in renowned author Norman Currey’s “Airplane Stories and Histories,” one of the best books on aviation history.

In his top-rated book, Currey takes readers on a journey by introducing his career and aviation experience. His 50 years in the aircraft industry, which include years of involvement in test flying, are well-seen throughout the book, providing important and insightful information in aviation.

Currey showcases chapters highlighting the contributions to aviation made by Sir George Cayley, known and referred to as “The Father of Aerial Navigation” and “Father of Aviation.” He was an English designer, innovator, and pilot and is known as the most prominent person throughout the entire existence of flight.

After Cayley, Currey zooms into the Wright Brothers, who invented the first airplane that the pilot could control. The author, a seasoned aviation expert, also covers other big names: Amelia Earhart, Wiley Post, and Charles Lindbergh. They are among those who changed aviation and, in many cases, the course of human history with their impressive achievements.

The book continuously hooks readers with photos, illustrations, and schematics of all the aircraft mentioned. Grady H., in a review on Amazon, said the photographs and drawings “provide an immediacy to his shared information.”

“Adding images of the Wright Biplane as well as George Cayley’s Governable Parachute makes Currey’s writing visual… Facts and history of the spectrum of air flight – including projects for the future! – make for entertaining reading as well as a compendium of significant information,” wrote Grady.

Taylor K., another reader, lauded Currey for bringing a “very informative and engaging book that provides a detailed look at the history of aviation.”

“Currey is a respected expert in the field of aeronautical engineering, and his knowledge and expertise are evident in this book. The book covers various aspects of aviation history, from the early days of flight to the modern era of jet travel. Each chapter is well-researched and provides fascinating insights into the technological advances and challenges that have shaped the aviation industry over the years,” wrote Taylor.

Currey obtained an aeronautical engineering degree in 1948 and became a stress engineer on the de Havilland Comet. Afterward, he traveled to Canada to help design the Jetliner and Arrow and then spent some 30 years at Lockheed, where he worked in the C-130 JetStar and C-5.

Those who want to grab a copy of “Airplane Stories and Histories” may purchase it on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
