Charlotte Black Film Festival Announces Streaming Platform for African American Creators to Showcase Their Work

For 11 years, Charlotte Black Film Festival has empowered African American creators with networking and exposure, and now they have created a streaming platform that offers even more opportunities for success

Charlotte, NC – Charlotte Black Film Festival is proud to announce its own streaming platform ioctv.net offering African American creators and filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their works and get exposure to a global audience. There are currently about 100 films on the platform in different categories, including student films, short films, international films, black woman in film, feature films, documentaries, TV/web series, etc.

Each of these films will be showing at the 11th Charlotte Black Film Festival, taking place June 15 to 26, 2021. The online program will feature 20 events and speakers and the annual Red Carpet Vision Award, where the best films will get recognition.

“We would like to welcome everyone to the 11th annual Charlotte Black Film Festival,” said Tommy Nichols, Founder. “Our mission is to help talented African American creators find a platform to express themselves and get opportunities for career growth and distribution . With the introduction of our own streaming platform, we hope that creators will get better exposure and reach a global audience that will appreciate their work.”

Tommy Nichols founded Charlotte Black Film Festival in 2010 to help filmmakers connect with audiences. Since its establishment, the event has transformed creators’ lives through networking, film financing and grant benefits, and opportunities for collaborations.

Exceptional leadership provided by Tommy Nichols is the main reason why the event has remained a success and a favorite among film industry executives, film enthusiast, journalists, film financiers, and other stakeholders in the industry. Tommy was recently interviewed by The Charlotte Observer, where he said that he screened all the 400 films submitted to select the final 100 that made it to the festival. Such loyalty and dedication show commitment to his vision of ensuring every filmmaker who comes to the Charlotte Black Film Festival platform get equal opportunity.
